A bit of history on the car, I bought the car at the early part of last year intending to use it as a donor car for another project but after getting the car a decided it was to good to chop apart for bits. the car had a blown engine which is why i bought it for parts. i managed to find a low mileage 8v gti engine from a friend which i duely stripped to bare bits and rebuilt it with new components after a full clean.
list of the new bits that went into the engine:
new big end baring shells
new big end bolts
new piston rings
new abf head gasked
golf diesel windage tray
new sump
new oil pump
new modified valve guides "bulleted"
new valve springs
new hydraulic cam followers
brand new, newman 276* cam - the limit of hydraulic lifters
modified woodruf key to align the cam properly.
new water pump and thermostat.
ported and polished head - maximum port size possible after changing the port angle
reshaped valves
mk1 golf gti oil cooler.
metal water pipe deleted.
custom catch tank
custom exhaust heat shield.
new filter king adjustable fuel pressure regulator and filter.

After doing the research i decided to swap from the standard restrictive injection system to carbs. i decided to go with some cbr 900 motorbike carbs. these were mated to a custom one off mild steel manifold that was flowed into the ports. the original injector holes were blocked of with liquid metal and any ruff bits that came through into the ports were smoothed off. the ignition system was changed over to a golf 1.6 driver distributor and tci unit. after the car was running the carbs were re jetted to suit the engine.
engine has only covered running in miles (500 miles) and 2 track days so all in no more than 750 miles since a full engine rebuild!!!
the car also has numerous other modifications which include.
new 16v golf master cylinder
new 16v golf 256mm fron brakes
ferodo brake pads on the fron and pagid pads on the rear
converted to a manual steering rack for better feel when on the track.
new brake lines throughout
new goodridge braided hoses all round
new billit aluminium brake bias adjuster installed and the original golf one removed.
new vmax shack absorbers and springs all round
new wheel barings all round
new fron lower ball joints
new steering rack gaitors
new steering arm ball joints
new brake disks all round
all gear linkage bushed renewed
engine bay gear linkage uprated and converted to rose joints - these give it an extreemly positive feel when engaging a gear and a nice clicking sound, perfect for confident gearchanges round the track.

full omp 6 point bolt in roll cage
4 point racing harnesses
modified seats for taller drivers!!
scorpion stainless backbox
custom made aluminium door cards.
The car comes with bbs alloys that have just been fitted with a brand new set of tyers for wet use, it also comes with a set of tsw racing alloys these have a set of almost slick nankangs on them, great for track use not so much for road.
Fresh mot as of the begining of the month so completely road legal!!! even passed the emissions test.
I think thats most of it but i have probably left somthing out.
I would like to get £1800 for it which I think is fair but i will take offers around that mark.
