hi ash will let u no mate but looking for both small bumpers off a standard mk2 to swap with my large bumpers aslong as they in fairly good condition im not fussed, so if you have a set and are interested give me a bit of notice so i can get them off my car lol cheers, lee

na mate still not sorted it i jus cant figure out what it is, when i started the engine it lasted a couple of seconds then went and drove as normal but now the noise is while im driving ! sounds shit lol, u going to this meet on sunday mate ?

could be the tappets.

you may well need an oil and filter change.

when you start your car your oil is thick and cold and therefore it doesnt pass through the wholes in the tappets very well which leaves them dry and noisy (metal on metal) but as your engine warms and the oil heats up it thins and can therefore move more freely (making the noise dissapear).

if your oil is a real black colour it probably needs changing! do you know when it was last serviced?


i forgot to ask the other day by text; does the car still run alright? i.e. does it miss fire?

regarding servicing

if you get everything;
oil
oil filter
plugs
leads
fuel filter
always good to clean out your air filter too which requires petrol, water and some lubrication afterwards.

i will give you hand if you need one.

thanks mate but im goin abroad for 4 months in 2 weeks so gonna get car cover and sort everything out wen a get bk but will deffinately giv ya a shout so dont delete my num bud, oh and i think ur oil guess-timation was bang on the money as the oil light is flickering now lol, looking to get some coilovers while im away wondered if u had any for sale ? and also if u knew of a place i can sort my bodywork out like a huge garage or summet simalar for a spray job to tidy it up ? but seriously though mate uv bin a great help, thanks !!

one of my cars has joms and theyre alright. basically all the cheap coilovers are pretty much the same, so if you havnt got a massive budget just get these.


have you checked your oil level?

do you want to spray the car yourself??? i may of know of someone who would rent you a space and theres a home made booth there too

iv never sprayed anything in my life, only done a bit of arch repair and stuff but my theory is u learn by doing it so gonna do the shell and if its all good il start on the inside under the carpets and stuff.
But if ya lookin to do it the budget way il deffo help,
in summer wel do em both if ya want mate ?
apparently 90% of the job is prepping it !!
as long as we get the write colours and equipment we'd be fine
