| i have a lil problem with my mk4 golf.
it started once i put my new rims on it made a knocking noise and scrubbing, so i see bug gav and he spotted i had a broken spring so got cracking and changed the spring to a new one all done, lovely!!!!!! now i have a problem when i go over a bump / f**king POT HOLE its lyk i have no suspension cuz it hits ever so hard? if i go over a bump with the passengers wheel its nice and soft but the drivers side as i say has no give, what could this be or have i not put it back together proply????????? | |

| bort the parts from vw took leg off today the top rubber mount and bearing was nackerd so changed them fort it was sorted but its still very stiff when i go over a bump and i can still hear a rubbing/ scrubbing noise????? and now its all back on tight there isnt as much thread left as the other side cuz the thread is level with the top of the nut and on the other side i have aprx 1cm above the nut but cant get it any tighter??? my anti-roll bar isnt hitting my driveshaft either any help will be much appriciated as i dont wana drive it at the mo cuz i think ill bugger up the new bearing up i just fitted???? i hope this is understandable???  | |

| 1- the spring you put on could be a different damping rate from the others.
2- the shock could be leaking
3-your missing parts from the top of the shock. you should have; a plate, nut, bearing, rubber, the top plate and a nut. (at a guess this early in the morning)
4- the shock sits too low in the bottom position/fixing point so when you go over hard bumps it hits your cv joint. (jack your car up and check that youve got the same amount of strut poking out of the bottom of both sides) | |
