| Sorry Mal just seen this 2.If im about thurs eve ill bell you as ive got a manual and some tools. The only tool apart from normal sockets/spanners youll need is axle stands/jack and most important an 8mm alan key for the grub screw on the end of the leaves. Also make sure you have a fookin big tub o grease as the leaves will need packing. When i done mine i managed to pull radios arms out without disconnecting brakes etc.Ah and just remembered your ball joint arnt u?So ball joint splitter would be handy. The jobs a piece of piss and anyone knowing one end of a spanner from the other should do it in about 3 hours.More experienced mechanics would prob do it in an hour.Mine took about 6 hours due to chatting and beer drinking lol | |

| well we got the front down today!! was fun tho. using an older style puma/avis beammeant the bolts had to go straight into the beam and torrsion bars them selves but unfortunatly it turns out older beams used a unigue vw thread pattern!! neva heard of this b4 but apparently true! searched everywhere to find something that wud fit. in the end we made the discovery of finding the right thread on a wheel studs of a 1950's army vw based land rat buggy. so the beam ended up having some brand new vw passat wheel bolds putting it together! all is good so the front has dropped around 4 1/2" which isnt as much as i'd have liked but still given it a much better look. ive now got some smaller tires for the front aswel......might be being a little brave tho as there actually space saver tires.......115/70/15's.......hmmm brave or stupid. either way that'l drop the front another 2". so now we guna attempt the rears saturday day time prob just drop it 2splines now as the front hasnt gone down as far as id liked. so that brings me to my next question........how easy are the rears and wud someone give me a rough idea of what im doing please before i break something | |
