| My father-in-law has just bought a T-plate MkIV Golf GTi. Are there any pitfalls with these? He's under the impression that this is the dog's danglers... Don't get me wrong, but it's just NOT the MkIII...!!! | |

| Hi mate, what spec is the Golf and I would say sadly the mk4 is better build than the mk3, a T reg is the first mk4's their biggest probleme is the driver window mecanism that breaks but thats not to bad My wife has got a S reg TDI and thats been good as gold | |

| is it a 1.8t or 2.0 8v??? coil packs have got to be the most common things on the 1.8t. -failing that theres issues with a plastic clip on the clutch pedal thats known to break quite often. -rusty tailgates that let water in that 1) corrdoes and seizes your boot lock. 2) stops the wiper from working. 3) plays havoc with the alarm. | |

| It's the 1.8 20v version. To be truthful, I've not done any background on these, but it's a fabulous example, it's only done 84,000 miles, it's got 1 tiny scratch on the paintwork, and the interior is pristine. Oh, and it's RED!!!!
Is this turbo'd? I can only presume it's a 4 pot with 5 valves per cylinder?
OMG feel like such an amateur!!!! | |
