| as above my window mech packed up when i finished work today!!!!!!!!! gutted so ive currently got a screw driver holdin my window up! FOR F*$£+ck sake if anyone knows the best place to get one whould be................... much appreciated i just had a look on ebay could only see 4 on ther but not a passenger side or what other mechs would fit???? | I think the motors are the same, if you stripped the motor from the Mechanism, replaced it with another, it should work... It worked for my missus old Focus... | |

what so i can use any motor as long as it connects with my mechinism????? It's gotta be one of the same motors from the same type of car, so that all the mounting bolts and all the electrical connections match up. but they should be all interchangable... | |

| give gsf a call dave. all the motors should be interchangebale throught the mk4's possibly older ones too howver the mechs will bedifferent especially 2 door to 4 door. also some, if not all can be side dependant too | |

ok mate nice 1 yea the motor is fine just the wire has all snapped up. only thing is tho when i took the door card off there's a metal plate which is pop riveted so im unsure how im gona do it as i dont have a rivet gun is the window mech connected to that metal plate??? | |

| u cud drill the rivets off then re-fit the panel wiv panel bolts, thats how mine was put on by a previous owner | |

| yeah it will be one complete unit to un bolt it out there are to black rubber bungs on the metal part take them out and let the window down till you see a 10mm bolt through the holes undo them and this will let you take the glass out.then undo all the 10mm bolts all round the edge and remove anthing else conected to the metal part ie wires etc and the metal part will come away from the car with the regulator attached to it. | |

| just bin on the mk4 forum and they got step by step pics well helpfull so when ever your 3 chris ill have that mech mate and wiggy if you dont mind ill give you a call for helping hand | |

| lol na the screwdriver was gone the next day!!!!!!, for the moment ive just taken the door card off and put a piece of wood inside the door to keep the window up and it dont look dodgy like the screwdriver did. im in no major rush as my driver one is workin and im rather skint atm....it'll get there wrote this while you posted ben so modifying lol umm im not sure? | |
