| My Bay is going to Steve and Rixy next week and they are getting the balls rolling on the resto project. Have looked into interiour, paint, wheels, engine etc but not really thought about what is going to be involved in a complete rewire. I have a list of electrical items as long as my arm that I would like to put in it, maybe someone on here could tell me about what would be involved. A few items that ill want wired in: 17" Widescreen flip down and swivle monitor from roof in back (remote control) DVD headunit (remote control) Average speakers in the front. oversized spekers in rear. Subs and amps. Space Heater. Fridge. USB Harddrive linked to headunit and screens. Plug sockets. lighting. Sufficient Battery Power Supply. Mains Hookup from outside. Plus all the other usual stuff. What do people think?? Any suggestions on the amount of battery power needed. | |

| Holy sh*t Gav, you really should leave your living room in your living room..!! You're gonna need some amps there.... High-draw alternator, 240V inverter (in case you want to add a PS3), [RCA Leads S-Video Lead for the HDD link to the screens]. I'm no electrician, but you'll be looking at quite an expensive lounge.... | |

| i'd sit down and plan exactly everythin u want in there b4 u start making the interior..... you'll def want a split charger system with 2nd high cap battery, poss a gel leisure battery, so it can cope with being used for running everything whilst the engine is off......not sure u can get a high cap alternator for an aircooled bus?? hence the split charger and leisure battery, but it could be possible?? everything else is fairly simple if you plan it all out first, you'll def want a 2nd fusebox to run everything, and yeah, a built in 240v convertor, with at least apair of double sockets, for future addons..... | |

| If you can't find a high-capacity alternator, you could possibly have 2 alternators running the charging circuits, you'd need to find someone/somewhere to get a double pulley for the drive end. I've done it previously on marine engines to run deck pumps and alternators at the same time. Just something worth thinking about...? You might want to buy a supplemental battery charger unit to keep things ticking over correctly... | |

| yeah, thats a good idea, though that could also be a problem on aircoolers, as tjey only run a short belt, and a 2ndary alt belt.....though i suppose a bracket could be fabbed up to run another beside it?? just register on vzi forum, and find out how everybody else does it, lol.....or get in touch with mr westwood??? they've ruined a couple of bay's on pimp my ride uk? they must know how to power their huge 40" screens they fit, lol....... | |

| Great info, but guys I get the feelin you think im going to wreck it Most of it is standard stuff im sure like a fridge and music system, the space heaters are sold for bays and splits. I just want to add some screens, Hard drive is so I aint gotta carry CD's and DVD's, and the lighting is so that I can see when it gets dark. Too look at, you will see nothing as will all be enclosed with in the interiour But anyway thats some good advice you guys have got there, any ideas on whether a watercooled engine ie ej20t or ej25t would give me any better options on powering the electrics. | |

| you can get 75 amp alternator for an aircooled engine, but a split charge unit is a must!! | |

Cool Cool, what you recon Blacky? Would that be sufficient to power all the above.? | |

| not a 100% sure. is there any way of finding a rough wattage of gear that you want, and then we can work out the amps | |
